The Georgetown Gridiron Club (GGC) is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit.  The GGC’s mission is to enrich the football experience of the Georgetown community including student-athletes, alumni, students, parents, faculty, neighbors, fans and friends. Our goal is to support current and future football program fundraising initiatives, provide mentoring for all players, enhance alumni and parent involvement, elevate the game-day experience, celebrate the rich traditions of Georgetown Football, and support priorities requested by the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director.

Generally speaking, all cash donations for Georgetown football should be given directly on the Georgetown Giving site HERE

The GGC holds events to bring alumni, parents and friends of the program together.  Examples of the events are as follows: 1) Alumni weekend which is held early in the fall around a game at Cooper Field. 2) Tailgates at all home games and the annual NYC tailgate for the game we play against Fordham or Columbia.  3) NYC Thursday night reception before NYC game.  4) Annual golf outing/silent auction.

The GGC will also sell merchandise to support overall fundraising for specific goals the program may need. 

This is not an exhaustive list of possible ways to raise money.  GGC may decide to supplement these approaches to maximize the effectiveness of the campaigns. 

Great question, and YES!  A donation to the GGC is 100% tax deductible, as long as you receive nothing in return of monetary value for the donation.  As an example, registration fees for Alumni weekend or the golf outing are not tax deductible but a monetary donation or an auction item donated to the GGC is tax-deductible.   We will provide you with a tax receipt for your records.

Unfortunately, you are not able to receive class credit for a gift to the GGC from Georgetown University.  For this reason, we ask you to donate directly to Georgetown University through the link we mentioned above unless you are donating to help support our home tailgates which requires a donation to the GGC .
